That question has no predetermined answer. It is one we ask honestly, regardless of which political party holds power or which public official is making decisions. We believe every administration, every elected official, and every institution should be evaluated by the same standard: What did they do, what evidence supports it, and how did it affect the lives of the American people?

We believe journalism serves democracy best when it informs rather than persuades, investigates rather than speculates, and verifies rather than assumes.
